Legal Conference
Since the implementation of the Adoption and Children Act 2002, the policies and practice of permanency planning have become far more subject to the scrutiny of the courts. The conference aims to bring together those involved, both in judicial and administrative decision making, to explore how the process of permanency planning, be it for reunification, family or friends placement, adoption or long term fostering, might be improved for children.

Attachment and Care Planning in Children’s Services
Conference Summer 2010
We have planned a selection of speakers and related workshops around the topic of planning and decision making. These are key to the futures of children who are separated from their families. Despite its importance much research evidence and practice experience is pessimistic about our capacity to plan for children in line with their needs. This is in spite of considerable development in our understanding of children’s attachment needs and the effects on their development of persistent abuse and neglect.
For more information on speakers view the flier in Word or PDF. To register your interest email northernireland@baaf.org.uk.
