This one-day course is designed to provide an introduction to the methods employed by offenders to target, groom and abuse children using the Internet. It provides an insight into the technical terminology used in relation to computers and the Internet and an exploration of the current debate on whether Internet sex offenders are different to other kinds of sex offenders. An introduction to some practical assessment techniques is included.

- Have developed strategies for collecting and collating information.

- Be aware of the need to keep accurate records and confidentiality / sharing information.
