The Adoption Register announces 1000th match

The Adoption Register team are delighted to announce that the 1000th match of a child awaiting adoption with prospective adopters was confirmed by the child’s responsible local authority in December 2009. All 1000 matches have been achieved since BAAF started operating the Adoption Register .These matches have each been presented to their respective adoption panels, been recommended and then agreed by Agency Decision Makers.

BAAF has been operating the Adoption Register for England and Wales on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Welsh Assembly Government since December 2004.
