New director for adoption and fostering in Wales

Issued: 25 April 2008

A new director takes over the reins at the British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) Cymru on 1st May 2008.

Jenny McMillan steps in following the retirement of Mary Romaine who had been with BAAF for 15 years. Jenny has many years experience in social work in Wales and beyond, including nearly seven years managing two family centres in the Rhymney Valley for NCH Cymru.

Jenny said: “I’m really looking forward to joining BAAF and through them working with families and agencies in the area. BAAF has been a pioneer in this field for many years now and I’m delighted to be driving forward their programme to improve the lives of looked after children in Wales.”

BAAF Cymru provides a range of services, including an advice line for members of the public and for professionals, and training and consultancy services. For further information visit www.baaf.org.uk/local/wales
