Committed To Finding Families For Children

The aim of the Consortium:

To find adoptive and permanent family homes for children in the West of Scotland.

The Consortium offers one way of meeting this goal. It consists of 13 members, of which 12 are Local Authorities and 1 is a voluntary organisation, and it is particularly useful for older children. There are many children who need to be parented in families that are not their own.

Seeking prospective adopters!

Individuals and couples approach us because they want to parent and become a family.

You may have good experience of looking after children.

Perhaps you have been thinking of another child joining your family.

Infertility may have prevented you becoming parents in the way you initially planned.

It is not always sensible to place children in their home area. A geographical spread of families allows for greater choice.

There are three ways in which you can receive further information regarding the children in the West of Scotland who are waiting for a family:

  1. Contact the Consortium office at the address below and information will be sent out to you.
  2. Phone, write or email the Consortium office and information will be sent out to you.
  3. Your local council Social Work Department will be able to put you in contact with local family placement workers.

All kinds of people are needed for all kinds of children, including single applicants. There is no upper age limit.

You may think what you have to offer is not what's being looked for, but there could be a child waiting who may not find a family unless you come forward.

Think you have something to offer? Want to know more?

Do something about it! Do it today!
