London Marathon

The 2009 London Marathon takes place on Sunday 26 April. If you entered the ballot and are thinking of running for charity we would love you to consider supporting BAAF. This is one of the most popular running events in the world, with people travelling across the globe to take part. As one of our runners from 2007 said, ‘This was a big challenge but it kept me going to know that running the London Marathon for BAAF was going to help children who need a loving home. If you’re thinking of doing it, go for it!’. We have two spaces left for 2009 so if you would like to take part in one of the most memorable running experiences in 2009, while raising vital funds to support BAAF, we would love to hear from you. We will give you fundraising and training advice, a free running vest and promise to cheer loudly for you from our supporter point on the day! Please contact Daisy for more information.

Other fundraising ideas

You don’t have to be sporty or want to travel overseas to support BAAF. You could try organizing a cake sale, golf competition, dress down day, karaoke night or even do a sponsored slim. Get friends, family and colleagues involved and you will not only be raising awareness of BAAF but you will help us raise money to support children who cannot live with their birth parents. Students

If you are studying at university you’ll no doubt have seen lots of fundraising going on around you. From being one of your charities of the year to street collections, there is always an activity to be taking part in. If you would like BAAF to benefit from some of the events please contact Daisy.

If you want to undertake a sponsored event for us, you can:

• Get help, advice and sponsorship forms from our fundraising team
• Get your event promoted on the BAAF website
